Post 4 (topic A): My favourite meal
I don´t really know exactly how this dish is made since the one who prepares it is my mom, but I have a general idea of the process. First, you let the beans soak in water the day before. Then you slow cook the meat so it can be easily shredded, then you finish cooking the meat with some finely cut veggies. While doing this you can also start cooking the rice and put the soaked beans in a pressure cooker. The last part is cutting some ripe plantains and frying them until they are golden brown.
I like it for a very simple reason, it´s the same as why you would like any meal, it tastes really good, but also because my mom has made it since I was a kid and I have always loved it.
I don´t think it´s very unhealthy, maybe the most unhealthy part is the fried plantains but in general is a well-rounded dish, but don´t get me wrong, I wouldn´t eat it every especially since it takes so much time to make it.
